PRIZM CONNECT PROGRAMMING

Diversity. Opportunity. Access.

PRIZM’s educational programs empower young people to grow, excel, and lead. Through music and mentorship, we enrich Memphis’ cultural landscape while nurturing a new generation of skilled, confident leaders who reflect the strength and diversity of our community.

PRIZM Connect Workshops

The PRIZM Ensemble brings expert coaching in woodwinds, brass, and strings directly to your school—empowering students with the technical precision and artistic insight needed to elevate their musicianship. Middle and high school students specializing in strings, woodwinds, and brass will also have the unique opportunity to participate in a mock All-West audition. Students will perform their audition materials, receive professional feedback, and take part in a 30-minute personalized coaching session—all designed to boost confidence and readiness just days before the real audition.

PRIZM Summer Camp and International Music Festival

Each June, PRIZM hosts its annual Summer Camp and International Music Festival—a celebration of music, learning, and community. Held at Shady Grove Presbyterian Church, the camp offers students the chance to deepen their musical skills in a supportive, collaborative environment. Participants learn from distinguished faculty from Memphis and beyond, and enjoy performances by world-class chamber ensembles such as the Dior Quartet, INTERWOVEN, and Imani Winds. It’s a transformative experience that fosters both artistic excellence and personal growth.

PRIZM in Performance

Students will experience inspiring performances by exceptional musicians in both solo and ensemble settings. They'll also have the chance to participate in dynamic community outreach events, including the RiverArts Festival and our annual PRIZM Benefit Concert each spring—showcasing their talents while connecting with the broader Memphis community.

PRIZM Chamber Music Competition

Each March, the PRIZM Chamber Music Competition offers students a valuable opportunity to prepare for their Solo & Ensemble auditions while showcasing their talents in a supportive, competitive setting. Participants may register as individuals or as part of a small ensemble to perform for a panel of distinguished judges, receive constructive feedback, and compete for exciting awards—including scholarships to the PRIZM Summer Camp & International Chamber Music Festival, trophies, certificates, and cash prizes. New this year: The competition is now open to undergraduate college students, expanding our commitment to nurturing musical growth across all levels.

"Each time I play alongside the PRIZM teachers, I can tell that I am improving in certain areas. I am learning different ways to move my arm and different techniques that help me get higher up on the violin comfortably. I'm learning leadership; being able to play strongly and not hide behind other players!"
