June 3 - 15, 2024

The PRIZM Music Camp & International Chamber Music Festival is an opportunity for young budding musicians to learn the art of small ensemble playing, while working with world class professional musicians from across the globe. These renowned musicians serve as camp faculty --- and also as mentors.

Since 2009, the event has attracted students from 40+ educational institutions in the Memphis area, including private/public schools, parochial/charter schools and home-schooled children). In many cases, Camp is the first opportunity for participants to work together with peers from different socio-economic backgrounds.

Given our mission of diversity, opportunity and access, we also strive to ensure both our Camp faculty and student make-up mirror Memphis demographics - 60% nonwhite, 50% female.
Our music program offers the following:

  • 2-week financially accessible program with world-class faculty (compared to other festivals that cost $1,000/week)
  • Opportunity for youth ages 12+ to learn intermediate to advanced chamber music classes, soft skill workshops and masterclasses
  • Opportunity for the students to meet lifelong friends in the music community
  • Students develop listening skills, non-verbal communication and team building, along with life lessons such as discipline, focus, work ethic, presentation skills and personal responsibility.

PRIZM changes these young people into thriving, blossoming musicians. You provide an environment for the students to learn, explore, express, take risks, and mature musically without fear. This festival is like their safe haven each summer to retreat to with other like-minded, passionate musicians in an environment that is encouraging and supportive, all the while demanding compassion, respect, love and commitment. The quality of instruction and overall experience for the students is second to none.

Stephanie Ige, Parent

“Before I came to PRIZM, my school orchestra conductor told me, 'Once you have been through this camp, you will be a totally different musician than you were going in.' As the saying goes, 'You don't believe it until you see it.' There is no other camp like the PRIZM International Music Festival."
