First of PITS elementary students to enter summer camp

This spring completed our third year of PRIZM in the Schools at De La Salle Elementary in Memphis’ Binghampton neighborhood. When it first began in 2016, PITS music classes were only offered to third and fourth graders. This past school year, it extended to fifth grade, so students who have been in PITS previously can continue progressing in their music training.

The PITS program at De La Salle introduces young students to music education, including theory and history. They also learn the mechanics of playing the violin, viola, flute and trumpet. Now, after three years of extensive training, De La Salle students for the first time were well-versed to enter our PRIZM Music Camp and International Chamber Music Festival. And, due to generous donations, five of these students attended the camp on full scholarships!

De La Salle students wrapped the 2018-19 school year in May with their annual Spring EXPO. These talented hard workers drew in more than 150 people in attendance. Check out some highlights from this semester:
