Camp Instructor Spotlight: Yennifer Correia

Talk about experience – Yennifer is not only a violinist who has performed worldwide, but she also has built a versatile career as an orchestral musician, educator and chamber performer. Since 2018, she has been a member of the string faculty at PRIZM, teaching chamber music, masterclasses and sectionals. We are thrilled to have her back teaching chamber music at our 2021 summer camp! 

Aside from being a faculty member at PRIZM, Yennifer has been a fellow with the Memphis Music Initiative for the past six years, working with Memphis-area students from Colonial Middle School, Central High School and Mt. Pisgah Middle School. Along with teaching, she has been a member of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra since 2019.

More fun facts about Yennifer: 

  • She recently performed in a tribute concert to composer Philip Glass at Carnegie Hall in New York.
  • In 2005, Yennifer received First Prize at the Chamber Music International Competition in Dallas, Texas.
  • She has appeared with the Arkansas Symphony, Louisiana Philharmonic, Fort Worth Symphony, Missouri Symphony, Plano Symphony and Irving Symphony.
  • Since 2019, she has been a member of the board of directors for the Memphis Youth Symphony Program.
  • She has performed worldwide across North America, South America and Europe.
  • She’s originally from Venezuela.
