The PRIZM Music Camp & International Chamber Music Festival is an opportunity for young budding musicians to learn the art of small ensemble playing, while working with world class professional musicians from across the globe. These renowned musicians serve as camp faculty --- and also as mentors.
Since 2009, the event has attracted students from 40+ educational institutions in the Memphis area,
including private/public schools, parochial/charter schools and home-schooled children). In many cases,

Given our mission of diversity, opportunity and access, we also strive to ensure both our Camp faculty and student make-up mirror Memphis demographics - 60% nonwhite, 50% female.
Our sentinel program offers the following:
- 2-week program (in 2 key locations) with attendance for up to 110 children per week session
- Opportunity for youth ages 12+ to learn intermediate to advanced chamber music classes, soft skill workshops and masterclasses
- Opportunity for the students to meet lifelong friends in the music community
- Instruments include: Strings — violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar; woodwinds — flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone; and brass — trumpet, horn, trombone, tuba
- Gains in listening skills, non-verbal communication and team building, along with life lessons such as discipline, focus, work ethic, presentation skills and personal responsibility.
- Evening performances at the program site alongside the prestigious Camp faculty
Total registration fee is $375 for either session, or $700 to attend both sessions. Payment in installments can be made if needed; please contact us for further details. A minimum $100 deposit is due upon registration to be paid online or by a mailed check. The deposit will be deducted from the total tuition amount.
Each Camp participant will be placed in 2 chamber groups based on their placement
performance. Parents will be notified about the placement performance time following completed
If Camp participants would like the opportunity to perform with the faculty, please prepare 2 contrasting movements from a solo piece (sonata, concerto, suite, etc.) or 2 etudes of contrasting styles (one technical, one lyrical). All others should prepare a solo piece or etude. If you have a pre-formed group and all members are attending the festival, you may perform together as a group. We will make sure that those who have requested to be in a pre-formed group are placed accordingly.
Placement performances are hosted to place Camp participants in appropriate groups and with appropriate repertoire. Remember, this is supposed to be fun!
All placement performances will take place on Saturday, June 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at:

Summer Camp Schedule
Each day camp check in will begin at 8:30am. Check out will typically occur at 3:30pm. The exception to this is the first day of the week when campers are expected to stay and listen to the faculty solo performance, ending around 6pm and the final day of camp, when campers will perform their final concert beginning at 7:30pm.
PRIZM Ensemble offers scholarships for students to attend Camp; funds are provided to assist
families who demonstrate a financial need. Decisions will be based primarily upon financial need,
with consideration also given to past and current participation in the community, and future
